The new trailer for WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER: TEN YEARS LATER is full of A-grade, wet hot American fun. The follow-up to the series based on the cult classic movie is looking to satisfy all of your Camp Firewood needs.
Netflix released a prequel series in 2015 which followed the events that happened before the 2001 original. As the title suggests, David Wain and Michael Showalter take us from 1981 to 1991 in the new eight-part limited series with the massive returning cast that includes A.D. Miles, Amy Poehler, Beth Dover, Chris Meloni, Chris Pine, David Hyde Pierce, David Wain, Elizabeth Banks, Eric Nenninger, H. Jon Benjamin, Janeane Garofalo, Jason Schwartzman, Joe Lo Truglio, John Early, Josh Charles, Ken Marino, Kristen Wiig, Lake Bell, Marguerite Moreau, Marisa Ryan, Michael Ian Black, Michael Showalter, Molly Shannon, Nina Hellman, Paul Rudd, Rich Sommer, Sarah Burns, and Zak Orth. That’s a whole lot of funny.
Even though original cast member Bradley Cooper won’t be there for the reunion, there’s all-star lineup of new cast members joining the crew including Skyler Gisondo, Samm Levine, Mark Feuerstein, Marlo Thomas, Joey Bragg, Jai Courtney, Dax Shepard, Alyssa Milano, and Adam Scott.
The trailer, with its distinct soundtrack, serves up some major ’80s/’90s vibes but more than that, it gives fans a taste of what to expect: hormone-infused satire and skewering absurdity that will definitely satisfy. It all looks hotter, wetter, sexier, funnier and more ridiculous than the previous series — and I can’t wait.
