Will Smith, Jared Leto, Tom Hardy, Jai Courtney and Cara Delevingne have now officially been confirmed to star in the Warner Bros DC comics adaptation SUICIDE SQUAD. The film will focus on a band of super-villains that are recruited by the government on a suicide mission to defeat a bigger baddie. The troupe of actors were previously rumored to star in the high-profile film, with Margot Robbie having previously been confirmed to be playing Harley Quinn. The film will be directed by David Ayer. The roles that the A-list cast will play are as follows:
Will Smith – Deadshot
Jared Leto – The Joker
Tom Hardy – Rick Flagg
Cara Delevingne – Enchantress
Jai Courtney – Boomerang
Smith, having starred before as a superhero in Hancock, has an incredibly busy slate of upcoming films. His next film, Focus, also stars Margot Robbie. He is repped by CAA and Overbrook Entertainment.
For Leto, this will be his first film since his Oscar-winning turn in Dallas Buyers Club. He is repped by CAA and Untitled Entertainment.
This marks Hardy’s return to the DC cineverse, having previously played super-villain Bane in The Dark Knight Rises. Coming up next, Hardy will be seen in Mad Max: Fury Road, The Revenant and Legend. Hardy has a generous slate of films currently in pre-production and development, including the Elton John biopic Rocketman for which he will star as Elton. He is repped by CAA.
Delevingne, an English model-turned actress, burst onto the scene in Anna Karenina. Up next, she’ll star in another picture for Warner Bros, the Joe Wright fantasy film Pan, starring Hugh Jackman. She is repped by WME.
Courtney recently starred in I, Frankenstein and Divergent. Up next, the Spartacus: Blood and Sand Starz series star will appear in Unbroken, Insurgent, the Terminator reboot Terminator: Genisys and Man Down. He is repped by UTA and Silver Lining Entertainment
