Shondaland is reuniting with The Catch showrunner and Wonder Woman writer Allan Heinberg for a new drama series. The project comes under Heinberg’s overall deal with ABC Studios where he will develop new series for the studio.
The first series in Heinberg’s deal is ADULT BEHAVIOR, inspired by Queer as Folk creator Russell T. Davies’ British series Cucumber, Tofu, and Banana. The show is described as a sexy, multi-generational, comedic drama. Heinberg will write and executive produce alongside Shondaland’s Shonda Rhimes and Besty Beers, Davies, Julie Gardner, and Nicola Shindler.
Shondaland continues to rule at ABC with current series including Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder, and the summer soap Still Star-Crossed. This upcoming television season they will add legal drama For the People to the list.
Heinberg has a long history with Shondaland having writing credits on Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and, most recently, being brought in to serve as showrunner for season two of The Catch. On the big screen, he penned DC’s breakout hit Wonder Woman, directed by Patty Jenkins. With The Catch, Heinberg was brought on to get the show back on track after it failed to connect viewers during its freshman season. Under his reign, the show ramped up the action and fun, creating a unique show in ABC’s schedule that was gone too soon.
Heinberg is repped by UTA.
