Graphic novel SEXCASTLE is moving to the big screen as Fox has acquired the rights to Kyle Starks’s novel. Kyle Newacheck is attached to direct with Blake Anderson to star.
The story is a throwback to 80s action movies centered on the world’s former great assassin, who leaves the world of killing and retires to a small town only to be pulled back in at the beginning of the story. Anderson will play the titular role of Shane Sexcastle.
Newacheck and Anderson are best known for their work on Comedy Central’s Workaholics. Newacheck directs, edits, and produces the series while Anderson is a co-creator, writer, producer, and star. Anderson also starred in last year’s Sundance hit Dope.
Daria Cercek will overseee the project for Fox, while Getaway Productions’ Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, and Mike Larocca will produce with Newacheck and Anderson.
The Russo brothers directed the Marvel hit Captain America: Winter Soldier and the upcoming Captain America: Civil War, and are currently working on Avengers Infinity War Part 1 and 2. They also have a long career in television having produced and directed such series as Arrested Development, Community, and Happy Endings.
Newacheck and Anderson are repped by WME and Avalon Management. The Russos are repped by WME.
