Wyatt Russell, “Fences” Breakout Jovan Adepo to Star in Bad Robot’s D-Day Movie “Overlord”

Everybody Wants Some!! scene-stealer and Fences breakout are set to star in for Paramount and , the companies jointly announced on Monday.

Julius Avery (Son of a Gun) will direct from a script by Billy Ray (Captain Phillips) and Mark L. Smith (The Revenant), while J.J. Abrams and Lindsey Weber will produce for . Production will start this May in the U.K.

Set on the eve of D-Day, Overlord follows a group of American paratroopers who are dropped behind enemy lines to carry out a mission crucial to the invasion’s success. But as they approach their target, they begin to realize there is more going on in this Nazi-occupied village than a simple military operation.

Russell recently played Anna Kendrick’s ex in Table 19 and a lovable pothead in Richard Linklater’s Everybody Wants Some!!. He also starred in an episode of the acclaimed Netflix series Black Mirror. In addition to the lead role in the upcoming AMC series Lodge 49, Russell will soon be seen in a quartet of indies including Ethan Hawke’s Blaze, the hockey comedy Goon 2, the Sundance entry Ingrid Goes West and the comedy Folk Hero & Funny Guy with Alex Karpovsky.

Adepo, who recently played Denzel Washington and Viola Davis’ son in Fences, can currently been seen as a series regular on HBO’s The Leftovers.

Russell is represented by , while Adepo is repped by Gersh and . Overlord keeps the actors in business with Paramount, which released both Everybody Wants Some!! and Fences.
