YA author Jennifer Rush has hit the market with the first in her latest series, RISING THREE. Pitched as The Craft meets Sons of Anarchy, the contemporary fantasy centers on a teenage witch searching for her kidnapped best friend in a dark, dangerous world of black magic, warring families, and deadly motorcycle gangs. The book, which is set to published by Little, Brown Children’s, in spring of 2017, is already being shopped to film and television outlets.
Rush’s previous YA series, Altered, is currently under option to Preger Entertainment, producers of fantasy-horror film Vampire Academy, also based on a best-selling YA series. Plans are adapt the first book in the series into a feature.
Altered focuses on Anna, whose father works for mysterious and sinister the Branch, monitoring four genetically altered boys in a lab. The boys escape with Anna in tow, using only their wits for survival.
