Newcomer Barry Stiglets, who previously appeared on the 2016 Young & Hungry List (The top new writers of the Year) landed a new home this week, signing with agents Lance Dow and Tina Contogenis of Eris Talent Agency, and quickly seeing his new spec THE BLUE WHALE hit the market ahead of the weekend.
Additionally, Stiglets has boarded two new projects for the recently announced content arm of Eris – Eris Content, signing on to bring to life the kidnapping-gone-wrong thriller Captured, which is centered on the secretive practice of celebrities who hire paparazzi and the dangerous relationship balance of power between the two, and the horror thriller Dark Hands, which he will write for actor Lonnie Chavis.
Dow, who is heading the new division added “I haven’t felt this emotionally wrecked by a story since the The Lovely Bones and the female lead role is a career defining role. You are literally begging for the story to end so you can take a breath because you’ve held your breath so long, and to give your pounding heart a break before you burst a coronary artery.” in regards to The Blue Whale.
Earlier this year Stiglets’ spec Polybius returned to the market with director Joe Dante attached and quickly found a home with Mudbound producer Kyle Tekiela’s Artimage Entertainment.
