It’s not easy working in the world of corporate communications these days, but one executive who has navigated the treacherous waters as well as anyone is Chelsey Summey, who has just been promoted at 20th Century Fox, the studio announced Thursday.

In her new role as senior VP of corporate communications (she was formerly a VP), Summey will oversee several aspects of the studio’s external and internal communications, including box office reporting, trade media relations and transactional announcements.

Summey joined the studio in 2012, and she will continue to report to Dan Berger, who serves as executive VP of corporate communications. Prior to Fox, Summey worked at Paramount and Paramount Vantage, as well as CAA.

“Chelsey’s incredible work at TCFF over the years has touched every corner of our studio. The respect she’s earned — both internally and across the wider entertainment community — has made her an invaluable leader within our communications team, and a vital member of our company as a whole,” said Berger.

On a personal note, I’ve gotten to know Summey quite a bit over the years, and I can’t tell you how easy it is to work with her. I always come away from our interactions feeling as though I’ve been treated kindly, fairly, and with respect. The Tracking Board congratulates her on her well-deserved promotion. Fox certainly has a keeper on its hands with her.
