First Glance: We’ve got our first official look at Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool!

What a glorious Friday! Ryan Reynolds has taken to Twitter to debut our first official look at the merc with a mouth from the upcoming film. And I have to say, it’s simply perfect. It’s so refreshing to see a film adaptation stick so closely to its comic roots. The Deadpool suit looks straight out of the panels, and I can’t wait to see Reynolds in action as our favorite wise-cracking anti-hero.
We’ve also got our first official synopsis for the film:
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Deadpool, directed by Tim Miller, will star Ryan Reynolds in the titular role, along with TJ Miller as Weasel, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, Morena Baccarin as Copycat, and Ed Skrein. Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick penned the script. Deadpool will bow on February 12, 2016.
