Why to Read: | The classic family drama set-up: everyone trapped together at a wedding. This script, however, has its own twist on things, as the protagonist sees visions of her recently deceased brother. The protagonist’s struggle to communicate her emotions and her frustration with her family seemingly having no reaction to her brother’s death creates a complicated drama with gripping and moving moments. The dialogue is cutting and revealing, with each character’s voice coming through and the biting, irreverent voices of family members at odds with each other causing the script to move along at a breakneck pace, with fragile characters bouncing off each other like a pinball machine of emotion. |
