Why to Read: This is a fun and engaging read that sets up a young adult series that will connect to and entertain teens across the world. The writing is smart and witty, with a clear, consistent voice that makes reading the book a joy on so many levels. The voice is funny, self-deprecating, and relatable, and really enhances all of the other aspects of the writing. Young kids everywhere will relate to Ravi’s character, as he feels like a bit of an outcast but has an opportunity to do something great. There is also a lot to learn from this story as it is about responsibility, discovery, and family. In addition, the dialogue is great, with lots of little character details that really let us know more about these people and their lives. The idea of a baby superhero is also really funny and after so many serious, gritty superhero tales, it’s enjoyable to read something more lighthearted.
