Recently wrapped freshman series Genius has announced its subject for season two will be Pablo Picasso. Season one, which according to National Geographic Channel was seen by 45 million people around the world, centered on scientist Albert Einstein.
Season 1, Episode 9 – In the final chapter of Genius, after a bout of loss and depression, Albert makes amends and finds happiness with his family.
Season 1, Episode 8 – We return to Albert and Elsa being interrogated by Geist to acquire their U.S. visas as they attempt to escape Nazi Germany.
Season 1, Episode 7 – Albert continues to be the Worst while navigating his separation with Mileva, his scientific pursuits, and the rising war.
Season 1, Episode 6 – Albert and Mileva’s marriage enters its death throes, with Albert’s expedition to prove light waves are impacted by gravity only slightly worse off.
Season 1, Episode 5 – This week’s episode of Genius was more of the same, and similar to every other week, it struck a chord somewhere between “fine” (music is fine, visually it’s fine, the acting is fine, the writing is fine) and incredibly frustrating to watch. We’re reaching the breakdown of Albert and Mileva’s relationship, and the dynamics of it are completely infuriating.
Season 1, Episode 3 – Mileva deals with the consequences of her pregnancy while Albert tries to masterfully dodge them, before finally doing right by her and proposing.
Season 1, Episode 2 – The second episode follow Einstein’s first wife, Mileva Maric, flashing back and forth between her difficult path to academic success and her ultimate downfall through her affair with Albert.
Season 1, Episode 1 – Genius starts slow, introducing us to both young and old Albert Einstein as he struggles to find his place in academia, and later, struggles to escape an increasingly hostile Germany.
Upcoming anthology series Genius from National Geographic has tapped Oscar-winner Geoffrey Rush to portray Albert Einstein. The series hails from Fox 21 TV Studios and Imagine Television.
The biopic begins filming next month.
