Typee: A Peep at Polynesian Life, was Melville’s first book and a semi-autobiographical account of the author’s experiences as a captive on the island Nuku Hiva in 1842. Madbrook’s Boyd Holbrook and Madeleine Sackler, who will both share a story credit on the film, are also serving in a producing capacity.
