Logline: The story centers on two 19th century German scientists, explorer Alexander von Humboldt and mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss, both of whom measured the world in very different ways. While von Humboldt set off to explore the uncharted jungles of South America and the map the Orinoco River, Gauss hardly ever left his hometown of Goettingen, preferring to use the stars, mathematical formulas and deduction to make his discoveries.
