The Star Wars: Force Awakens is crossing over from the world of TIE fighters and X-wings to Guillermo del Toro’s fantastical sci-fi world of Kaiju and Jaegers.

Steven S. DeKnight has won the job to direct Pacific Rim 2, the sequel to the 2013 hit action film featuring robots battling monster-aliens. The first film was helmed by Guillermo del Toro with a script by Travis Beacham.
Penn will cowrite the sequel to the 2013 blockbuster with Guillermo del Toro.
