As summer starts to wind down, the film rights market is heating back up with a new family-oriented sci-fi book, Rex. The YA adventure, co-written by authors Cody B. Stewart, Adam Rocke, and Mark Rogers, is stomping its way onto the film rights market with Kathy Muraviov and Darryl Taja leading the charge.
When an eleven year-old boy and his friend find a mysterious egg in the Florida Everglades, creepy men begin to stalk his house and military helicopters start buzzing their neighborhood. But when the egg hatches, the boys realize life as they know it will never be the same!
Logline: Pitched as “ET” meets “Catch That Kid.” A precocious young boy discovers a dinosaur egg in the swamps of Florida. When it hatches, the boy discovers that his new pet is part of a secret military experiment, and the agents who will stop at nothing to get it back are already hot on his tail.
