BBC drama The Last Kingdom has gained a co-producer in Netflix for the second season, just as production begins in Budapest, Hungary.

Based on the best-selling novels by Bernard Cornwell, The Last Kingdom is a contemporary story of redemption, vengeance and self-discovery set against the birth of England.
