On May 25, 1977, Star Wars: A New Hope was released into theaters and forever changed the landscape of cinema. It led us to the glorious game-changing follow-up Empire Strikes Back and the Ewok-infested and tolerable Return of the Jedi. Then there were the prequels which, now matter how hard we try, we will never forget thanks to the excessive CG-effects and the haunting gibberish of Jar Jar Binks. Most recently, the franchise was reinvigorated thanks to Disney and J.J. Abrams and the magic worked on The Force Awakens — and all of this wouldn’t have been possible without A New Hope.

To celebrate its 39th anniversary, a massive infographic was created by artist and graphic novelist Martin Panchaud. The 157-page infographic (yes, you read that right: 157 pages) tells the entire story of A New Hope with meticulous graphics of ships, scenes, dialogue, planets, space stations and characters. It’s quite remarkable.

No details are left out, including memorable lines such as this…

And according to the gigantic scrolling infographic, it solves the mystery of “who shot first?” between Han Solo and Greedo.
