29 Films To Watch Out For At The Toronto International Film Festival

This year, the Toronto International Film Festival boasts 296 feature-length films. If we could see every single film, we would. Unfortunately, we can’t because it is impossible for any one human to do so. That said, we went through the very impressive lineup of films at this year’s fest and made a must-see list for your reading pleasure.

Disney Conjures Mean Girls Director Mark Waters To Helm 
Magic Camp (EXCLUSIVE)

Prolific director Mark Waters has been tapped to helm the upcoming live-action family comedy from Disney, Magic Camp. It’s being produced by Suzanne Todd, with Noah Harpster and Micah Fitzerman-Blue working on the most recent draft of the script.

Fox Developing Family Comedy With Melissa McCarthy & Ben Falcone

A new family comedy is in the works at Fox with Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone. The pair also have another comedy, Nobodies, set up at TV Land.

• Lee Daniels has been added to the list of keynote speakers who will appear at the South by Southwest Conference and Festivals that runs March 10-19. The festival also announced more additions to its featured speakers lineup, including Cheryl Boone Isaacs, president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. • Netflix is closing a deal for the SVOD rights to The Bad Batch, the Ana Lily Amirpour-directed film that stars Jason Momoa, Jim Carrey, Keanu Reeves, Suki Waterhouse and Diego Luna. The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival where it is competing for the Golden Lion prize. (Deadline)
