ABC is developing new drama series GLASS HOUSES which will tackle the luxury real estate market in Los Angeles and which his based on the life of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards.
Written and executive produced by Good Wife writer Lenoard Dick, Glass Houses is described as a big, fun family drama set against L.A.’s high-end real estate world, told from the perspective of th emotionally and financially overextended lead Anisa Shattenkirk-Glass,. The drama follows Anisa and a colorful ensemble of characters as she launches her own company and challenges the dominance of the grand dame of the L.A. real estate world, her former employer and mother-in-law Dahli.
This is the scripted second series to be inspired by Richards’ life in recent memory. American Woman, about her childhood in the 1970s, was ordered straight-to-series by TVLand and will premiere on the Paramount Network in 2018.
Glass Houses is from Working Title, Universal TV and NBCUniversal International Studios and will be executive produced in addition to Dick by Richards and Working Title’s Andrew Stearn, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner.
Aside from Glass Houses, ABC has also put into development Spirited, a psychic drama starring Laverne Cox, Eligible, a modern-day retelling of Pride and Prejudice from Pretty Little Liars showrunner Marlene King; and an untitled sitcom from The Goldbergs trio of Dan Levy, Doug Robinson and Marc Firek, based on Levy’s own life and standup routine.
