If one thing sells in Hollywood, it’s naughty nuns, but Jeff Baena takes the concept to a whole new, filthy level with THE LITTLE HOURS. Based on The Decameron, a collection of novellas by Italian author Giovanni Boccaccio, the trailer for the off-center pic features the all-star comedy cast led by Aubrey Plaza, Alison Brie, and Kate Micucci doing some nasty, albeit hilarious acts of debauchery.
The film, which premiered at Sundance (read our review here), tells the story of three medieval nuns living a simple life at their convent — but they are some foul-mouth nuns. Like, really filthy. But things get lewder and lusty when a handsome young man by the name of Massetto (Dave Franco) comes to the convent to hide out from a man (Nick Offerman) who is out to get him for sleeping with his wife (Lauren Weedman). Father Tommasso (John C. Reilly) sees it as a good idea that he act as a deaf-mute to avoid temptation, but that doesn’t stop a horny batch of nuns.
The trailer captures exactly the kind of film this is. It’s wildly filthy and funny. The trailer will leave you laughing and feeling dirty…in a good way.
