Mark Lawyer Launches Markerhouse Management

Manager/producer Mark Lawyer has officially launched his new company Markerhouse Management, a new boutique management shingle. Under this new company, Lawyer will be focusing on elevating the careers of established and under-represented screenwriters and nurturing fresh and aspiring voices, but is also taking the novel approach of helping his clients become key players in film and TV production. He will be doing this by educating all of his clients in the business aspects of the industry, positioning them to reach new levels in their careers beyond them sitting behind the computer screen.

Lawyer got his start by setting up Mike Maples’ Hit List thriller spec “Padre” with Screen Gems in April of this year. Following that he helped develop Maples’ latest spec hitting the market, “Backtrace,” which he is also producing. This was the beginning of Markerhouse, which has really hit the ground running. Lawyer currently has a slew of hot new projects, in both the film and television worlds, on the market from a number of his writers. Many of these projects have already garnered interest from production companies and studios but are still too early to announce. Keep your eyes peeled as it will not be long until you see Lawyer and his shingle’s name in the trades on a more frequent basis.
