Glenn Close must choose between Patrick Stewart and John Malkovich in THE WILDE WEDDING from Vertical Entertainment. The trailer shows Eve Wilde (Close), a famous actress who invites her ex-husband (Malkovich) to her wedding with her latest husband (Stewart).
As one might presume from the title, things get “wild” from here. The plot seems like an easy fix… simply don’t invite your ex to your wedding. However Close didn’t get the memo as audiences are shown late night escapades, cannabis candy, and family fights as the characters prepare for the wedding. Other guests of the wedding include Minnie Driver, Yael Stone, Grace Van Patten, and Noah Emmerich.
While the film boasts impressive leads the trailer can’t help but feel stale. With other films such as It’s Complicated, Somethings Got to Give, and The Big Wedding already covering any fresh angle on this type of story it’s hard to impress. The film will find an older audience, but may prove to be quickly forgotten by younger movie-goers.
