Steven Spielberg’s “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” Coming Back to Theaters 40 Years Later (Video)

Sony has announced it will re-release Steven Spielberg’s landmark sci-fi movie for one week this September in honor of the film’s 40th anniversary.

The studio waited until World UFO Day on Monday to release a cryptic teaser on YouTube titled “This Means Something,” which references a line of dialogue in Close Encounters.

The trailer, which features distorted frames from Spielberg’s classic, directs viewers to WeAreStillNotAlone.com, a new website for fans of the original movie.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind touched down in theaters on Nov. 16, 1977, but Sony saw an opportunity in early September, so it’s celebrating the 40th anniversary a little early. Watch the video above to get the nostalgia party started.
