Nicolas Cage, Juno Temple and Johnny Knoxville have all been added to the cast of action-thriller CROSS THE DOG (aka MISSISSIPPI WILD aka WILD SIDE).

The film, which is being helmed by Jesse Baget off a script he penned with Stefania Moscato, follows a teen who has to go on the run with his girlfriend after stealing diamonds that belong to a local gangster. Ryan Donowho and Dakota Fanning have already been in talks to assume the two lead roles as the teens on the run. Mickey Rourke, Forest Whitaker and Robert Duvall have all been mentioned for supporting roles.

The pic will be produced by Shannon Makhanian, Ryan Johnson, Mark J. Holder and Christine Holder.

Although it is unclear how they fit into the scheme of the plot, we do know that Cage would play a character named Odel, Temple would play Lila Belle Clyde and Knoxville would assume the role of Henry the Case.

Cage, who has turned in strong performances in films like “Raising Arizona”, “Adaptation” and “Leaving Las Vegas”, for which he won an Oscar, most recently starred in “Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance”. He will be showcased in another upcoming thriller, “The Frozen Ground”. He is repped by CAA.

Temple, a rising young star, has been keeping herself busy lately. Since starring in last year’s “Cracks” and “Dirty Girl” she has this summer’s highly anticipated “The Dark Knight Rises” lined up as well as the recently wrapped Linda Boreman biopic “Lovelace”. She is repped by Troika and UTA.

Knoxville, who is best known as a try-anything-once stuntman for the popular series “Jackass”, first made his debut on the big screen in 2000’s “Coyote Ugly”. He has since gone on to claim a leading role in the sports comedy “The Ringer” and “The Dukes Of Hazzrd”. He will be putting his dramatic chops to the test in the crime thriller “The Last Stand.” He is repped by CAA.
