Aviron Pictures has released the first trailer for THE STRANGERS: PREY AT NIGHT. The sequel to the 2008 film The Strangers finds the masked psychopaths terrorizing a family who must survive the night. The trailer also showcases one of my favorite 80’s pop hits “I Think We’re Alone Now” by Tiffany.
The Strangers opened to mixed reviews, receiving a 45% on Rotten Tomatoes and grossed $82 million worldwide with a $9 million budget. The original never managed to carve out its own flare, and paid too much homage to original slasher films for my taste. However, I’m curious what the 47 Meters Down helmer Johannes Roberts does with the sequel.
The official synopsis reads: A family’s road trip takes a dangerous turn when they arrive at a secluded mobile home park to stay with some relatives and find it mysteriously deserted. Under the cover of darkness, three masked psychopaths pay them a visit to test the family’s every limit as they struggle to survive. Johannes Roberts directs this horror film inspired by the 2008 smash hit THE STRANGERS.
The film stars Christina Hendricks, Martin Henderson, Bailee Madison, and Lewis Pullman. The Strangers: Prety at Night opens March 9, watch the trailer below.
