From Trader Joe’s to Riverdale, “jingle jangle” is all the rage these days, and now Netflix is moving ahead with its own Jingle Jangle — a family holiday musical from Almost Christmas director David E. Talbert.
>Netflix announced it has purchased a pitch from Talbert, who is attached to write and direct the film as well as produce alongside Lyn Sisson-Talbert and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
In Jingle Jangle, a cobblestone world comes to life in this tale of an embattled toymaker, his precocious granddaughter, and a magical invention that could change their lives forever — if they can get it to work in time for the holidays.
Talbert is already in business with Netflix on a holiday movie, as his new film El Camino Christmas will debut on the streaming service in just two days on Dec. 8. Ted Melfi (Hidden Figures) wrote and produced the movie, which stars Luke Grimes, Tim Allen, Vincent D’Onofrio, Dax Shepard and Jessica Alba. The director has already had success with holiday movies thanks to Almost Christmas, which followed First Sunday and Baggage Claim.
