Warner Bros. Picks Up Leo Sardarian’s Action Sci-Fi Script “The Expansion Project” (Exclusive)

In a pre-emptive deal, Warner Bros. has picked up ’s action/sci-fi script The Expansion Project for (Rampage) to direct, the Tracking Board has exclusively learned.

Joby Harold, Tory Tunnell and Matt Schwartz will produce under their Safehouse Pictures banner, which recently produced King Arthur for the studio. Peyton’s deal isn’t done quite yet, but he’s expected to be involved.

The Expansion Project follows a rookie female marine who gets stranded on a hostile planet during humanity’s space colonization with nothing but an Exo-suit that’s running out of fusion power.

Sardarian is an alum of the 2013 Black List, the 2013 Hit List and the 2013 Young and Hungry List thanks to his feature script Nicholas, which he sold as a miniseries to the History Channel. He most recently served as a Story Editor on Crackle’s hit series StartUp.

Peyton (pictured above) is the director of San Andreas and Rampage, both of which star Dwayne Johnson. He’s represented by , while Sardarian is repped by and .
