Saban Films has nabbed the North American rights to the John Michael McDonagh’s action comedy WAR ON EVERYONE starring Alexander Skarsgard and Michael Pena.
The film, which also stars Theo James and Tessa Thompson, follows two corrupt cops (Skarsgard and Pena) in New Mexico who make a living blackmailing criminals. The duo end up meeting their match when they attempt to take on a someone who could potentially be more dangerous than them.
Written and directed by McDonagh, War on Everyone premiered at the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year and continued its festival run at the SXSW film festival in March. Phil Hunt and Compton Ross from Head Gear Films produced the film alongside Elizabeth Eves of Reprisal Films. Chris Clark and Flora Marengo served as producers as well.
Saban recently released A Hologram for the King starring Tom Hanks and the Nicolas Cage heist movie, The Trust. The company will release Rob Zombie’s horror pic 31 later this year and is currently filming the reboot of the Power Rangers.
