Armie Hammer has been cast to star opposite Felicity Jones in ON THE BASIS OF SEX, the biopic of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Mimi Leder, best known for her work in TV (The Leftovers, Shameless), will be directing the feature for Participant Media. Daniel Stiepleman penned the script, who is also Ginsburg’s nephew.
The drama will focus on Ginsburg (Jones), as she teams with her husband (Hammer) to bring the first gender discrimination case before the Supreme Court.
The feature is eyeing a shoot this fall in Montreal with a 2018 release.
Hammer has been generating award buzz for his performance in Luca Guadaginino’s Call Me by Your Name. The actor was most recently seen in the indie film Free Fire. He is repped by WME and Sloane Offer.
