“Charmed” Reboot Rounds Out Lead Trio With “Into the Badlands” Star Madeleine Mantock

The CW’s reboot of has its Charmed Ones, with Madeleine Mantock signing on as the third witch sister opposite Melonie Diaz and Sarah Jeffery.

Charmed is described as a fierce, funny, feminist reboot of the original series, which centers on three sisters in a college town who discover they are witches. Between vanquishing supernatural demons, tearing down the patriarchy, and maintaining familial bonds, a witch’s work is never done.

Mantock will play Macy, a practical, driven, and brilliant geneticist who has her world blown open when she discovers that the supernatural world is all too real.

Diaz will play Mel, a passionate, outspoken activist who loses her way in the wake of a family tragedy and Jeffery is Madison, described as a bubbly college freshman who finds witchcraft at odds with her goal of getting in to a super fun sorority.

Darius Blain is also part of the pilot cast and plays Macy’s boyfriend.

Jane the Virgin scribe Amy Radin and Jessica O’Toole penned the script with a story by Jennie Urman. The trio is exec producing the CBS drama alongside Ben Silverman. Brad Silberling is set to direct the pilot episode.

Mantock played the character Veil on the first two seasons of AMC’s Into the Badlands. The show has been renewed for a third season, but she will not appear going forward. She previously starred on The CW’s The Tomorrow People.
