Westworld star Evan Rachel Wood and Jane the Virgin‘s Gina Rodriguez are teaming up with Richard Jenkins and Debra Winger for Miranda July’s untitled heist feature. The project hails from Annapurna and Plan B Entertainment with production set to begin in May.
The story centers on a woman named Old Dolio whose life is turned upside down when her parents, amateur con-artists, invite an outsider to join their biggest heist yet. Wood will play Old Dolio, with Jenkins and Winger set as the shady parents who are confronted by the mistakes of their poor parenting. Rodriguez has been cast as the woman who learns of the family’s secrets and is brought into the fold.
July is best known as the writer, director, and star of You and Me and Everyone We Know which won the Camera d’Or at Cannes and a Special Jury Prize at Sundance. She is represented by UTA.
Wood can next be seen in HBO’s epic sci-fi series Westworld which debuts its second season in April. SHe is represented by CAA.
Rodriguez is best known for playing the title character in the CW’s Jane the Virgin and has had a busy few months already with the premiere of the sci-fi film Annihilation and signing on to headline for the live-action Carmen Sandiego movie. She’s also set to star alongside DeWanda Wise and Brittany Snow in Netflix’s feature Someone Great which will film in April. Rodriguez is represented by CAA.
Jenkins most recently was seen in the Oscar-winning The Shape of Water from Guillermo Del Toro. He is represented by Gersh.
