First Images Of “Harry Potter And The Cursed Child” Cast Released
0Harry Potter still lives as he moves to the stage in London’s West End in HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD, and today, Pottermore gave us the first glimpse of the trio tasked with continuing the story.
The two-part story takes place 18 years after the events of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows. Jamie Parker takes over the role of Harry, played on screen by Daniel Radcliffe, while Poppy Miller plays Ginny, and Sam Clemmett is set as their son, Albus Severus.
“He simply is Harry now. There’s a kind of relief in watching him, he gets it so right,” said the series creator J.K. Rowling of Parker’s performance.
Parker said of the role, “In a sense, you don’t need more than the scar and the glasses, you kind of go, ‘There it is,’ and I don’t really know how to put it into words.”
Rowling added of Miller, “I think a lot of people would like to have Poppy’s Ginny for a mother. Kind and cool, exactly as I imagined her.”
Miller is equally excited to see the surprises on stage come to life for the audience saying, “All of us are seeing things every day, what other people are doing for the first time on stage, that’s making us squeal with excitement. So, bring it on!”
In regards to the young star, Clemmett, Rowling kept tight-lipped. “There’s much I could say about Sam-as-Albus, but we’d be into spoiler territory so quickly I’ll just say we couldn’t have cast better.”
Joining Parker, Miller, and Clemmett on stage are Paul Thornley as Ron and Noma Duemezweni as Hermione.
Pottermore is set to release more cast photos and information to fans throughout the week regarding the play. Harry And The Cursed Child opens July 30 at the Palace Theater in London.
