Frank Grillo is set to reprise his role in Universal and Blumhouse’s upcoming THE PURGE 3. He played Sergeant, a man seeking revenge who reluctantly protected a group of people left without shelter, in last year’s The Purge: Anarchy.
Franchise creator James DeMonaco will return to write and direct the third installment. Jason Blum is producing along with Sebastien Lemercier. 2013’s The Purge marked the first film Blumhouse produced under it’s first-look deal with Universal.
Grillo currently stars on DirecTV drama Kingdom as MMA gym owner Alvey Kulina. He will also reprise his role as Crossbones in Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War.
Next up for Blumhouse are thriller The Gift and sequel Sinister 2, both of which will be released later this month. The Purge 3 has a release date of July 1, 2016.
Grillo is repped by CAA and Management 360.
