Gael Garcia Bernal has joined the biopic THE DALLAS BUYERS CLUB.
Follows the true story of Ron Woodroof who, when diagnosed with AIDS and frustrated with the lack of medical options, created a lucrative smuggling business that made alternative drugs available to patients and helped himself live for another six years.
Bernal will be starring opposite Matthew McConaughey (Woodroof) as an effeminate member of the club that Woodroof meets in the hospital.
Producing will be Robbie Brenner, Rachel Rothman-Winter, Nathan Ross, David Bushell and Marc Abraham.
Bernal was recently seen in Will Ferrell’s comedy vehicle “Casa De Mi Padre” and romantic comedy “A Little Bit of Heaven”. Up next for him is the recently wrapped political satire “No”.
