Oscar-winer Holly Hunter has signed on to star alongside Maggie Gyllenhaal, Viola Davis and Oscar Isaac in the educational drama STILL I RISE. Helmed by Daniel Barnz, who also rewrote the script, follows a teacher and a mother and their attempt to change the educational system in a Pittsburgh inner-city school. Mark Johnson is producing through his Gran Via Productions shingle.
On the same day, she has also signed on to star in Julian Fellowes’ adaptation of ROMEO JULIET with Hailee Steinfeld. The story is an updated version of the classic play. Fellowes will produce with Gabriele Muccino, Ileen Maisel and Mark Ordesky.
