As expected, X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST will see the return of “X-Men: First Class” stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult, but more interestingly, Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart will be joining the cast for the sequel as well.
The two legendary actors will take on their respective roles of Magneto and Professor Xavier in the film alongside Fassbender and McAvoy, who will play the younger counterparts. Official details of the story are being kept under wraps.
Director Bryan Singer will produce with Simon Kinberg, Lauren Shuler Donner and Gregory Goodman.
McKellen’s prolific career has most recently seen him star in the 2007 film “The Golden Compass” and the 2006 pic “Flushed Away”. He will next be seen reprising another of his most famous roles- Gandalf, in Peter Jackson’s “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey”. He is repped by CAA and Independent Talent Group.
Other than his role as Professor Xavier, Stewart found success and fame playing Captain Jean-Luc Picard in “Star Trek”. He most recently lent his voice to the films “Gnomeo & Juliet”, “Ted” and “Ice Age: Continental Drift”. He is repped by WME as well as Independent Talent Group.
