J.J. Abrams Developing Space Drama “Glare” at HBO

Fanboy auteur is blasting off into space… again. The Star Wars: Force Awakens director is prepping on the sci-fi drama GLARE at HBO. The series will explore the colonization of another planet.

Abrams will executive produce under his Bad Robot Production banner with Javier Gullon, who also wrote the script. The series comes from a blind script deal Gullon had with Bad Robot. Ben Stephenson will also serve as executive .

The news comes hot off of HBO’s season finale of Westworld, which Abrams executive produces. His previous projects include the Hulu limited drama 11.22.63, CBS’Person of Interest, and Showtime’s short-lived music drama Roadies. Abrams will continue his space adventures as EP of Star Wars: Episode VIII. It was also recently announced that another one of his sci-fi projects, God Particle was pulled from Paramount schedule and another installment of his Cloverfield franchise will be released next year.
