Jake Gyllenhaal‘s film, STRONGER has found a home at Bold Films. The company will produce and finance the project about the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing.
In addition to starring in the film, Gyllenhaal will also serve as a producer under his production banner, Nine Stories. His partner, Riva Marker, who will serve as executive producer alongside Peter McGuigan, Anthony Mattero, and Gary Michael Walters. Scott Silver, Michel Litvak of Bold Films and Todd Lieberman & David Hoberman of Mandeville Films will also produce.
Stronger is an adaptation of the book by Jeff Bauman, who was a survivor that lost both legs during the bombing that killed three people and injured more than 260. David Gordon Green will direct the screenplay by John Pollono. Gyllenhaal is set to play Bauman opposite Tatiana Maslany, who will play his girlfriend.
Gyllenhaal can be seen in the upcoming Jean-Marc Vallee-directed Demolition, which will make its North American premiere at SXSW next month. He also stars in Tom Ford’s Nocturnal Animals with Armie Hammer, Amy Adams, and Isla Fisher.
