Element 8 Entertainment has partnered with GRID/AT to bring the bestselling French graphic novel, THE CALL OF THE STRYX, to television with the help of writer/director John Harrison. The book is published by Delcourt Group, and has been translated into nine languages, including English via Amazon’s Comixology.
The Call of the Stryx follows Kevin Nivek, an ex-secret service agent on the run, who must find the answers to a sinister conspiracy surrounding mysterious, ancient, fantastical creatures known as the Stryx.
Harrison is a bold choice for this project. He did win an Emmy for his 2003 adaptation of Frank Herbert’s Dune, but his work before that, especially on Tales from the Darkside and Diary of the Dead with George A. Romero, left something to be desired. His new series for Netflix, Residue, sounds promising, though. So we may get a pleasant surprise from Harrison as he brings this spy/creature thriller to life.
John Harrison is repped by Innovative Artists.
