John Magaro has signed on to Disney’s dramatic adventure flick THE FINEST HOURS. He joins a growing cast that includes Ben Foster, Casey Affleck, and Chris Pine. Directed by Craig Gillespie, “The Finest Hours” follows a Coast Guard rescue undertaken after two oil tankers were torn in half by treacherous waves during a deadly blizzard off Cape Cod in 1952. Magaro is set to play Ervin Maske, a visiting Coast Guard member who volunteers to join in the risky and dangerous rescue.
Magaro was previously seen in “My Soul To Take” and “Liberal Arts.” His upcoming projects include “Unbroken,” the biopic about Olympic runner and POW Louis Zamperini penned by the Coen Brothers and directed by Angelina Jolie, and “Carol,” an adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s novel set in the 1950s.
