According to The Wrap, Liam Hemsworth, Dan Stevens, and Evan Peters are all being considered for the male lead in Shawn Levy’s FORTY THIEVES. The action comedy follows a poor woodcutter who discovers the treasure in a band of thieves’ secret den by saying, “open sesame,” but when the clan finds that their treasure has been stolen, they pursue the man to the ends of the Earth. Levy is directing from a script penned by Jayson Rothwell.
Hemsworth currently has a lot on his plate: he’s reprising his role as Gale in the final Hunger Games films, and is also set to star in Kieran Darcy-Smith’s western By Way of Helena and Jocelyn Moorhouse’s adaptation of The Dressmaker alongside Kate Winslet and Hugo Weaving. Stevens recently signed on to star in the miniseries The Catastrophist following his roles in The Guest and A Walk Among the Tombstones. Next up, he’ll star as Sir Lancelot in Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb. Peters, best known for his roles in Kick-Ass and X-Men: Days of Future Past, will appear in upcoming episodes of this season of American Horror Story. His upcoming projects include X-Men: Apocalypse and David Gelb’s thriller Lazarus.
Hemsworth is repped by WME and Morrissey Management. Stevens is repped by WME and Julian Belfrage & Associates. Peters is repped by CAA.
