Disney’s latest live-action remake has its writer. Bryan Cogman, who has been writing and producing for Game of Thrones, is set to pen the script while Brigham Taylor produces. Sword in the Stone is the story of Arthur, a 12-year-old boy who is destined to become king when he pulls the sword Excalibur from a stone.
Live reboots of Disney’s past animated features, like Alice in Wonderland, Maleficent and Cinderella, have performed extremely well, and have prompted a full canon of remakes like the upcoming Beauty and the Beast, Mulan, Dumbo and Tinker Bell. In fact, the Sword in the Stone announcement comes just days after a live-action Aladdin remake and its prequel, Genies, were announced.
