Margot Robbie, Samuel L. Jackson and Christoph Waltz have been confirmed for Warner Bros. Pictures’ new version of TARZAN opposite Alexander Skarsgard. The story reportedly follows Tarzan after he’s been re-assimilated into society, where he is asked by the Queen of England to investigate the wrongdoings of a warlord in the Congo with the help of an ex-mercenary. Robbie will play Jane, the love interest while it’s theorized that Jackson and Waltz will play the warlord and ex-mercenary respectively.
Adam Cozad (“Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit”) penned the most recent draft of the script based on Edgar Rice Burroughs’ character. David Yates (“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2”) will direct. Alan Riche, David Barron and Jerry Weintraub will produce.
Robbie can still be seen in the Scorcese’s amazing “The Wolf of Wall Street.” She’ll next appear in “Suite Française” and “Focus” opposite Will Smith. Jackson can also be seen currently in the “RoboCop” remake and will soon appear in “Barely Lethal” and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” Waltz was last seen in Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained” and will next turn up in Terry Gilliam’s “The Zero Theorem,” Tim Burton’s “Big Eyes” and “Muppets Most Wanted.”
Waltz and Jackson are repped by ICM while Robbie is repped by CAA.
