Matthew Vaughn has proven to have the golden touch, and MGM banking on it now that they’ve handed him the reigns to the adaptation of the bestselling novel from Terry Hayes, I AM PILGRIM. Vaughn will produce and direct the project, and he will also co-finance the project through his MARV films company. Hayes will be adapting the screenplay to his own novel.
I Am Pilgrim follows a former U.S. intelligence agent who now operates independently under the codename “Pilgrim” – meaning a man who doesn’t exist. When he is called upon to help with an unusual investigation, Pilgrim is forced to save America from a terrorist attack.
Vaughn is responsible for one of the biggest sleeper hits of the last few years with Kingsman: The Secret Service, which grossed $412 million from a February release.
He is repped by WME and Brillstein Entertainment.
