Morgan Freeman has joined the cast of Universal’s TED 2. Seth MacFarlane’s sequel to his 2012 teddy bear hit will find him again voicing the vulgar bear, as well as writing and directing, with Mark Wahlberg reprising his role. Freeman will play an iconic civil rights lawyer who tries to help Ted with some legal issues.
Freeman recently starred in one box office hit and one box office flop this summer. Wally Pfister’s sci-fi drama “Transcendence” didn’t wow audiences, while Luc Besson’s sci-fi thriller “Lucy” was the runaway hit of the season, of course before “Guardians of the Galaxy” hit screens. His Science channel docuseries “Through the Wormhole” recently finished its fifth season. Among his upcoming projects, Freeman will star alongside Clive Owen in “Last Knights” and will play Speaker Trumbull in the action sequel “London Has Fallen.”
Freeman is repped by CAA.
