Natalie Portman has officially signed on to star as Jackie Kennedy in the Fox Searchlight biopic JACKIE. She was in talks as of last April, and has now officially boarded the project. The film is produced by Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky, who was previously attached to direct. The film was initially announced in 2010, with Rachel Weisz set to star. The film follows the true story of First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis on the days immediately following the assassination of JFK. Amblin Entertainment and Protozoa Pictures will be producing.
Known for her roles in Black Swan and V For Vendetta, Portman has recently boarded three major projects, the thrillers Planetarium and Annihilation, and the Ruth Bader Ginsburg biopic On The Basis Of Sex, in the lead roles.
Portman is repped by CAA and Brillstein Entertainment.
