Tobias Menzies is set to reunite with Outlander season finale helmer Anna Foerster for Screen Gem’s action/horror sequel UNDERWORLD V. Menzies will take on the role of Marius, a enigmatic new leader of the Lycans, a group of werewolves. Kate Beckinsale, who’s led the series since the beginning, will be reprising her role as Selene.
The fifth installment of the popular vampire/werewolf franchise will follow a new breed of bloodsuckers and lycans who are equally as out to destroy the other. Cory Goodman scripted the pic, which will also feature Divergent star Theo James, who briefly appeared in 2012’s Underworld: Awakening.
Menzies made waves this year for his double duty performances on Starz’s hit series Outlander. The accomplished actor portrays both the docile contemporary Frank Randall as well as the sadistic fiend known as Black Jack Randall. Menzies has appeared in memorable instances on HBO’s Rome and Game of Thrones, as well as Honourable Woman.
He’s also popped up in films such as Casino Royale, Atonement, and most recently the Jude Law thriller Black Sea. Up next, he’ll appear opposite Tom Hiddleston in the AMC series The Night Manager.
