Trouble is brewing for one couple as the CW drama has just added The Good Wife actor Graham Phillips to the Season 2 cast in the role of Nick St. Clair, Veronica’s bad boy ex-boyfriend.

Nick’s arrival in the titular town of Riverdale will shake things up for Veronica (Camila Mendes) and Archie (KJ Apa), showrunner Roberto Sasca-Aguire told EW.

“Nick is an old classmate of Veronica’s from New York, and despite his parent-pleasing veneer, he is a wolf in sheep’s clothing: a hard-partying Lothario with dark desires and an unchecked sense of privilege,” he said. “His arrival in Riverdale will threaten Archie’s relationship with Veronica, and may even put some of our characters at risk.”

Phillips, who spent seven seasons playing Julianna Margulies’ son on CBS The Good Wife, will appear in two episodes.

Riverdale returns for Season 2 on Wednesday, October 11 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
