Jamie Lee Curtis and Emma Roberts will star in Ryan Murphy’s upcoming horror-comedy anthology SCREAM QUEENS. Written by Murphy and frequent partners Ian Brennan and Brad Falchuk, the first season of the series will be set on a college campus that is rattled by a series of murders. 20th Century Fox TV is producing alongside Ryan Murphy Productions with Murphy, Brennan, Falchuk, and Dante Di Loreto executive producing. This marks Murphy’s third anthology series, after American Horror Story and American Crime Story.
Curtis earned her moniker of “Scream Queen” for her star-making role as Laurie Strode in the classic horror flick Halloween and several subsequent sequels. She most recently completed Sean McNamara’s Spare Parts, a sports drama about four Hispanic high school students who form a robotics club and go up against the country’s reigning robotics champion, MIT.
Murphy did not have to look far for his second lead. Roberts has starred in the last two seasons of American Horror Story. She is currently filming Justin Kelly’s drama Michael, about a gay activist and magazine founder who believes he is “saved” from his homosexuality after turning to God.
